Another wet but successful Pet Day!

Rain didn't stop the fun of Pet Day!

TCAS Pet Day began with a light drizzle, but that didn’t dampen the arrival of animals, creations, and cakes. It’s always a fantastic day, and it’s awesome to see the community come together to support the event by participating, spectating, judging, and donating prizes.

This year saw a wide range of small pets, including rabbits, cats, ducks, possums, chickens, and even an axolotl! Outdoors, dogs of all sizes, goats, lambs, and calves braved the weather as the judges arrived to put the pets and their owners through challenges, questions, and skills before making their decisions.

The creative section continues to grow, featuring decorated cakes, dioramas, lego creations, cupcakes, and animals crafted from fruits and vegetables. Seedlings were on sale from the science department, and the BBQ is always a crowd favourite.

A highlight of the day was the grand parade, with owners and their pets dressed up in imaginative costumes. Cowboys, Willy Wonka with a chocolate bar, police officers, and even roadkill made an appearance. The cake raffle raised some laughs as many staff members seemed to win cakes (we assure you it wasn’t rigged!).

Events like this wouldn’t be possible without a dedicated team. A huge thank you goes to Alyssa McDougall for her incredible planning and coordination, the Pet Day committee, and the community judges. Thank you to FMG, Ravensdown and Ribbons Plus for the sponsorship and prizes, and to the people who donated baking towards the cake raffle and the baking table. Your hard work and donations made the day enjoyable for everyone!
